Simon Gerrans takes the golden fleece.
Happy the man who, like Ulysses, has made a fine voyage, or has won the Golden Fleece, and then returns, experienced and knowledgeable, to spend the rest of his life among his family. (Joachim Du Bellay)
After narrowly beating Peter Sagan to the line to win the third stage of the 2013 Tour de France, Simon Gerrans and the Orica GreenEdge team take honours in the fourth stage Team Time Trial.
It’s a coming of age for the Australian based team, winning their first Tour stage and then following up with another stage win and claiming the yellow jersey.
It was a fantastic team effort. Everyone committed 100 percent today, as they did yesterday, and it’s fantastic that today we get rewarded with a team win and the yellow jersey to top it off. I knew there weren’t many weak links in our team – it’s a very even team with a few strong guys and everyone stuck to their role. (Simon Gerrans)
Yeah and they now call him Yello Gerro.
