The book is a series of vignettes on all aspects of the cycle life. A vignette being a short and evocative episode. Something, once long ago, written on a vine leaf.
and it was really only learning to read that equalled the intensity of learning to ride. Within a few months, then, I learned riding and reading, in that order. At the Christmas of my fifth year, I was a complete man: I knew my work and pastime.
Not one to devour from cover to cover. Better I believe to savour the morsels. They’ll provide sustenance between the rides.
