Life Cycle

by Old Bone Machine

On the ride, stillness comes.

And afterwards the stillness returns in fleeting, unexpected moments. It enters the everyday. Eating a meal. Watching the children play. Sometimes it stays awhile and sits on your lap like an old cat.

The image is of the painting, No. 210/No. 211 (Orange), by the American abstract expressionist painter, Mark Rothko.
